Planting rice is a really lucrative activity in Farming Simulator 25. It is one of the most profitable crops in the game. But what if you don't buy seedlings in the store, but grow them yourself? Then the profit will be even higher. Especially in the game there are greenhouses where we can grow rice.

But there are some nuances and subtleties that should be considered before you start growing rice seedlings in greenhouses.

Why grow rice seedlings in FS25?

Growing rice in greenhouses is very profitable. You will not have to buy it to plant it in your fields. This way you can save money, because it is much cheaper to produce rice yourself than to buy it. And the profit from the rice crop in your fields will be higher.

Moreover, the seedlings can also be sold. That is, if you don't need a large number of seedlings to sow in your fields, you can just sell them and make a profit, even if it is not that big.

But we cannot think of the disadvantages in this business. You will need to buy a greenhouse, but this is not a problem, it does not cost that much. Ostovnoy disadvantage is that it will take a lot of time to grow rice in the greenhouse. And you also need machinery to load and transport it. But these are not such big disadvantages, as they are quite simply compensated, and below we will tell you how.

You can start growing seedlings! This is quite labor-intensive and time-consuming, so let's not rush to understand it in more detail. After all, your profit will depend on it.

Creating a greenhouse for rice

Of course, to grow seedlings, we need to create a greenhouse. This is done through the construction menu in FS25.

Press SHIFT+P to open the construction mode while in the game. Now you will see a section selection menu in the upper right corner of the screen. Select the second option as shown in the screenshot below.

Now look a little to the right, there is a special menu, select the “Greenhouses” category.

Great. In this section you will find a large number of types of greenhouses for growing seedlings and vegetables. But since we are interested at the moment only in rice, we need the very first greenhouse. It costs 3000 euros. In the description of the building you can see what vegetable crops can be grown in this greenhouse.

It remains only to install the greenhouse in a convenient place for you.

Tip: Try to place the greenhouse as close to a water source as possible, because you will constantly have to transport water to it (we will talk about this later).

Congratulations! You have successfully purchased a greenhouse for growing rice seedlings. Note that we have only included one greenhouse in this guide, but in reality, you can buy as many as you like within your budget.

Necessary equipment

Great! We have the greenhouse. However, we need to get some equipment. What for? Simply you will need to bring water to the greenhouse, and in addition, you will need it to load and transport the seedlings.

What will be required?

• First of all, you will definitely need a barrel for transporting water. This can be found in the “Barrels” category. For example, an Abi 550 or Abi 1600 cistern will do.
  
  

• You will also need a medium-sized tractor on which you can mount the barrel. In our case, we bought a Fendt 200 V Vario, but you can choose any other one (or maybe you already have one).
  
  

• In addition, in order to transport the seedlings, you will need a separate transport for their transportation - you can buy a small truck with a low-bed trailer with the possibility of autoloading or buy an additional trailer for the tractor and a loader (since you will already have a tractor).

To go to the equipment store, press the P key. Once everything you need has been purchased, you need to pick it up from the place of purchase. Move to the desired technique using the TAB key and bring all the tools to the greenhouse.

Water for greenhouses

Have you acquired the required technique? Great. Now hitch the water barrel to the tractor and drive to the river or water tower to get water. Any water source will do.

If you have followed our advice and placed your greenhouse close to a water source (e.g. a water tower), you can collect water there. Drive as close to the tower (or river) as possible and press the R key to start filling. In the lower right corner above the speedometer, you will be able to see a scale that will fill up. It indicates when your barrel is full of water. We recommend filling a full barrel of water so you don't have to drive to the tower again.

Great! We have water. We can move on to the greenhouse. Drive up to the icon with a drop of water near the greenhouse so that a hint appears on the screen and press the button to unload.

Wait for the process of filling the greenhouse with water to complete. This may take some time, so you need to be patient. The rice greenhouse holds 2000 liters of water. It is advisable to fill it completely so that you do not have to do this several times.

Planting rice seeds in the greenhouse

When everything necessary is prepared, it's time to plant seeds in our greenhouse. You need to enter the greenhouse. To do this, go to the door and click the right mouse button.

There you will see the repair key icon. Also go to it and press the R key (on PC) to open a special menu.



The screenshot shows the main controls. Activate the planting of seeds in the soil using the corresponding button.

That's it, the seeds are planted and have started to grow. You can watch how the amount of water slowly decreases, and the scale of rice seedlings, on the contrary, fills up.

Be patient as growing rice seedlings is a long process.

We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that when growing rice seedlings, you can change the status. There are 3 statuses in total: Storing, Selling, Distributing. Let's analyze each of them in more detail.

• Storing. When you activate this mode, ready rice seedlings will be stacked in the spawn area near the greenhouse. Then from there they can be loaded into vehicles and transported to the desired location.
  
  

• Selling. If you do not intend to use the seedlings for further production or planting, you can enable this mode to sell them automatically and thus bring money.

• Distributing. This mode allows you to automatically redirect the grown rice seedlings to other productions (if you have them) through a customized supply chain.

There's also a little trick: if you don't want to wait long for your rice seedlings to mature, you can sleep and activate time rewind. To sleep, go to the door of your house and press the desired key.

Now set the desired sleep time and wait.…

There's also an option to speed up the time. Look at which key in the game settings is set to rewind time. In standard game settings, it's usually the “7” key for slowdown and the “8” key for speed up in the PC version of the game.
