Guide to TMR (Total Mixed Ration) in Farming Simulator 25
TMR (Total Mixed Ration) is a mix of different feeds that are good for feeding animals - buffalo and cows in FS25. It is much better than regular feed like silage or hay when used individually. Therefore, it is recommended to read the guide to know how to prepare it.
Sample recipe and dosage accuracy

Making the right TMR requires strict adherence to the proportions. To prepare TMR correctly, strictly follow the dosages! Otherwise, you will end up with regular furah.
There are two obligatory components in TMR: hay and silage. Their share in the mixture should be no less than 20% and no more than 80% of the total volume. In addition, straw can be used - it is allowed in the amount from 0% to 30%. It is not superfluous to add a mineral additive, but not more than 7%.
Take into account the volume of each ingredient when loading it into the mixer. For example, a 24,000-liter mixer can be loaded with 10,000 liters of hay and silage, 4,000 liters of straw and up to 1,000 liters of mineral supplement.
Avoid overloading with straw - this is the most common mixing mistake.
Mixer selection

Both trailed and self-propelled mixers can be used for TMR preparation.
Trailed models, such as the PF 2.24 Plus, are designed for larger volumes. They require a tractor and loading equipment.
Self-propelled mixers such as the SPW Intense or Leader PF are convenient because they can collect all ingredients from the ground on their own. The only disadvantage of such equipment is the limited volume to 25-26 thousand liters.
Both these and other mixers have approximately the same functionality. The differences are only those described above.
Total Mixed Ration can be prepared from both bales and loose ingredients. Bales are easy to store and transport, but when using bales you need to keep a very close eye on the proportion indicators, as you cannot know how much straw is in 1m bale. Bulk materials allow for more precise dosing of ingredients and easier automation. If you use a hay store or silage pit, it becomes even easier.
During the mixing process, the interface displays the TMR quality scale. A green color on the scale means the mix is balanced and ready to use.
A yellow or red scale indicates that the proportions are out of balance - the mix needs to be either adjusted or reworked. It can also be used to feed cows, but the productivity will be much lower.
The role of mineral supplementation
Mineral supplementation is not mandatory and you can replace it with any other feed. But for feeding buffaloes and cows, it is best suited for feeding them, as it maximizes the productivity of the animals - they produce more milk. Also, by eating TMR, the health index of the cows will always be at a high level.
In automatic feeding systems, it is critical - without it, robotic mixers will not be able to form a complete mixture. In manual systems, the supplement is optional, but it improves digestibility and productivity.
The finished TMR is loaded into the feeder or fed through an automatic system. Manual feeding is possible if necessary, especially when resources or time are limited. The main thing is to follow the recipe when preparing it.
