A CAUTIONARY NOTE
This mod is still under development. Bugs are to be anticipated, and features are subject to change.
Use at your own peril. Any possible problems that may arise with your savegame or game are not the author's responsibility. It is highly advised that you backup your saves.
At this time, multiplayer (MP) is not supported. Support will be available in a later version.
Recognitions
We are very grateful to Frvetz, who made the Realistic Damage System mod for FS22, for allowing us to utilize his ideas and for helping us in the beginning. A special thanks goes out to Derwen Modding for testing the first versions.
The Mod's Philosophy
This mod's primary objective is to turn car maintenance from a straightforward task into an intricate and captivating gaming layer. Rather than just pressing a "Repair" button, you will need to make important choices that will have a direct effect on the success of your farm.
Instead of spam, use strategy. Now you have to schedule your upkeep. Waiting too long can result in failures at the worst conceivable time, yet servicing your cars too often will break the wallet. You have to strike the correct balance.
Actual Repercussions & Risk. The longevity and dependability of your equipment are strongly impacted by how you use it. A new tractor feels quite different from an old, worn-out one, and the former may even die in the midst of a field during harvest. Will you risk everything by pushing your outdated equipment to its breaking point? Or are you going to spend money on fresh, reliable equipment?
Important Brand Selections. Nowadays, brands have a unique personality. Which would you prefer—a high-end, dependable equipment that requires costly and time-consuming maintenance? Or a low-cost "workhorse" that has a lot of small problems but can be serviced easily and affordably?
This hack turns owning a car into a real management problem for your fleet.
Important Features
Total Redesign of the Wear and Damage System The patch totally swaps out FS25's default damage system with a more intricate, lifelike model that is determined by two crucial factors:
Condition: Indicates the general mechanical deterioration of the car's parts. High loads, overheating, and poor maintenance cause it to drop. The likelihood of major failures is greatly increased by low condition. An overhaul is the only way to restore it.
Service: Shows the condition of consumables (filters, oils, etc.). As operational hours increase, it falls. Inadequate maintenance speeds up the vehicle's condition deterioration. Maintenance is used to restore it.
System of Dynamic Breakdown
The most inconvenient moments are when cars may break down. Its condition directly affects the likelihood of a breakdown.
Every malfunction has many phases, ranging from small hiccups to a total component failure.
If a breakdown is not treated, it may worsen over time.
Numerous distinct issues with various systems:
Engine: blocked carburetor (for older machinery), fuel pump or injector failure, turbocharger wear, or ECU problem.
Transmission: PowerShift hydraulic failure, synchronizer wear, and clutch slip.
braking System: Complete failure due to decreased braking efficiency.
Hydraulics: Attached tools operate more slowly.
Electrical System: Problems starting, flickering, or complete failure of lighting.
Cooling System: A broken thermostat.
Advanced Simulation of Temperature
For contemporary tractors with CVT, the mod adds a comprehensive thermal model for the engine and gearbox.
Each component's temperature is determined independently and is influenced by the vehicle's dirt level, load, RPM, speed, and ambient temperature.
When older equipment overheats, it may lead to severe engine failure or a loss in output.
In order to avoid damage, modern cars come with an overheat prevention mechanism that immediately lowers power.
A New Workshop System of Maintenance
A multi-level maintenance system that requires investment and preparation has replaced simple fixes.
Inspection: Makes it possible to find hidden flaws that haven't shown up yet.
Maintenance: Replace "virtual" oils and filters to restore the service level to 100%.
Repair: Addresses certain, recognized malfunctions.
Overhaul: An expensive and drawn-out process that restores a portion of the vehicle's condition.
Every operation costs money and time (in-game), and the cost varies according on the vehicle's age, price, and maintainability.
Effects of Malfunctions That Are Realistic
Every malfunction has a noticeable effect on how the car behaves:
decrease in engine torque and output.
increased use of gasoline.
loss of power and erratic engine operation.
issues with gears popping out or shifting.
decreased efficiency of the brakes.
Hydraulics and lights failed.
issues starting the engine, particularly in cold weather.
Display of a few effects:
Distinctive Features for Vehicle Age and Brands
Dependability and Durability: Vehicle manufacturers vary in their dependability ratings, which impact wear rate, and maintainability ratings, which impact repair cost and speed.
Manufacturing Year: The behavior of the vehicle is influenced by its age. Older tractors, for instance, are more susceptible because they lack sophisticated overheat prevention.
Better HUD and UI
In order to monitor the condition of your cars, the mod includes additional interface components. These features include new dashboard indications and extensive information in the workshop menu.
Commands for the Console
The patch contains a number of console commands for testing and troubleshooting. You have to be in a car that supports the mod in order to utilize them. Use of the Command Description For instance
ads_debug
Turns on the mod's global debug mode, which outputs thorough logs to the debug panel and console. ads_debug
ads_listBreakdowns provides a list of every breakdown ID that is accessible for addition. advertisements_addBreakdowns ads_listBreakdowns
gives the present car a particular breakdown. A random breakdown is added if no identification is given. Breakdown ECU_MALFUNCTION ads_add Ads_removeBreakdown (2)
eliminates a certain breakdown. eliminates all active breakdowns from the current vehicle if no identification is given. Breakdown ECU_MALFUNCTION ads_remove
breaks down ads_advance
moves a particular breakdown along to the next phase. tries to progress all active breakdowns in the absence of identification. Breakdown ECU_MALFUNCTION for ads_advanceBreakdown
ads_setCondition determines the current vehicle's condition level. ads_setCondition 0.5 ads_setService Configures the current vehicle's service level. ads_setAssistance 0.2 ads_resetThe vehicle completely resets its state, erasing any breakdowns and setting Condition and Service to 1.0. ads_resetCar ads_startUpkeep
initiates the current vehicle's maintenance procedure. Types include overhaul, repair, maintenance, and inspection. ads_startAds_finish for maintenance repairsUpkeep
