Beekeeping in FS25 is perhaps the simplest way to raise animals, as bees require no additional costs from the player once they are placed. All you need to do is set up beehives and a honey collection point. Unlike other animals, bees do not need food, care, or special infrastructure to function in a state of autonomy and gradually produce honey. Beekeeping doesn't seem like the most obvious way of making money initially, but in Farming Simulator 25, in addition to giving you a nice steady income, it also boosts the yield of certain crops. Now let us dig into some beekeeping nuances in the game.
Honey also serves as a key ingredient to production recipes at facilities such as the Cereal Factory, where it is not only a product they sell. Society as a whole benefits from bees in other ways, too, from increased flowering crop yields, like sunflowers, potatoes and canola, to honey and wax.
Setting Up Beehives and Harvesting Honey
These include several types of beehives that come in a variety of sizes, designs, and costs. You can get small beehives for little farms and big constructs for scaling honey production. However, regardless of the type you choose, all beehives operate on the same principle: they produce honey, which appears at the collection point.
Do note that there's one honey point per map. This means every beehive, no matter where you put it in the farm, will bring honey to the same place.
If the game prevents you from placing a honey pallet spawn point, you already have one on the map. If you want go set it to a different location, you have to delete the old one in the construction menu and place a new one. On the RiverBand Spring map, it is most often located next to a barn or shed, for example.
Types of hives
- Hive (1 Langstroth hive) - 500$: budget option for small farms, provides a stable but modest increase in honey.
- Hive (4 Langstroth hives) - 1500$: optimal choice for medium-sized farms, combines reasonable cost and good performance.
- Round hive - $2,700: stylish and productive, suitable for farmers looking to improve efficiency.
- Old Hive - $250: the most affordable, retro style, suitable for experimentation or farms with a minimal budget.
- 33 Langstroth Hive - $3,000: a high performance unit for larger farms, a great choice for maximizing honey harvest.
- Honey Pallet Drop Point - $200: An essential setup for honey collection and storage, a must-have for hive operations.
How to Place Beehives in FS25
Here are the basics of getting bees out of a box and into a hive.
Click on the construction menu and jump to the Animals tab.
Scroll to the Bees subsection.
Choose what size hive — small, medium, or large.
Put the hive down on the spot on the farm where you want it, and remember which direction the bees are flying.
And if a honey collection point hasn’t already been mapped, add one.
Bees will get to work after being placed. After a certain time gold became ash between floor and money gold places.
Economic Benefits of Beekeeping
Honey in Farming Simulator 25 can be sold directly at farmers' markets for passive income or used to create complex products at factories.
For example, at the cereal factory, honey becomes one of the key ingredients for products like chocolate cereal or rice cereal.
When placing beehives near fields of flowering crops, you gain additional benefits:
-
Sunflowers get a 5% yield boost.
-
Potatoes and canola increase their yield by 2.5%.
These bonuses make beekeeping particularly useful for players who focus on growing these crops.
Honey Production Features
Working with honey in Farming Simulator 25 combines automation with resource management. Although bees require no maintenance after the hives are placed, collecting, transporting, and using honey still involve several steps. To manage this process effectively, it is important to have the right equipment and strategy.
Why You Need Special Equipment
Honey is produced in pallets, which appear at the designated collection point. Each pallet holds 1,000 liters of honey, and it takes time to fill one. However, once a pallet is ready, it needs to be moved from the collection point to a storage area, market, or processing facility.
To do this, you’ll need:
-
A Front Loader. This tool will be your main assistant when working with pallets. It allows you to easily lift, move, and load pallets onto transport vehicles. Many front loader models have interchangeable attachments, including pallet forks, making them a versatile tool on the farm.
-
A Truck or Trailer. For transporting honey over long distances (e.g., to a factory or market), it’s more convenient to use specialized vehicles. A truck or flatbed trailer lets you carry multiple pallets at once, saving time. Depending on your budget and production scale, you can choose a compact truck or a large trailer designed for high cargo volumes.
One key aspect of working with honey is proper planning. Since pallets take time to fill, it’s important to consider how many beehives you have. A single hive produces a small amount of honey over a specific period, so placing multiple hives is essential for faster pallet filling.
Where to Sell Honey in Farming Simulator 25
Honey produced by your hives is a valuable resource that can be sold for profit or used in production chains. Depending on your farm's strategy, you can choose from several options for selling honey.
Main Places to Sell Honey
Farmers' Market.
This is the most common and straightforward way to sell honey. On most maps in the game, the farmers' market is available from the start and is located near the central part of the map. Honey is sold there at standard prices, which can fluctuate depending on supply and demand.
Farm Kiosks.
Many maps have small trade points or kiosks that accept honey. These can be found on the map or built yourself. They are convenient because they can be placed close to your production site, reducing transport costs.
Direct export through a warehouse.
If your farm is equipped with a warehouse with export capability, honey can be shipped directly. This is an option for those who want to reduce interaction with retail outlets and prefer wholesale.Restaurants.
Restaurants on the map accept honey as an ingredient for their dishes. They offer competitive prices that are usually higher than at the farmer's market. Selling honey to restaurants adds an element of variety and realism to the gameplay, and can also be profitable if these outlets are located close to your farm.
Selling honey on custom maps
On some custom FS25 maps, there are unique selling points that can accept honey.
Honey can produce the following products:
-
chocolate sprinkles: 10 units honey, 10 units chocolate, 36 units oatmeal + 36 units corn.
-
long grain rice cereal: 15% honey and 40% rice.
-
Raisin Flakes: 10 units honey, 10 units raisins, 40 units oats and 40 units corn.
-
Honey 15 units and rice 36 units for rice cereal.
Honey can be used in other production processes (like desserts cosmetics or beverages ) if you are playing on a map with custom objects.
How to Maximize Profits
-
To get the most out of honey production, follow these tips:
-
Monitor price trends. Honey prices vary with the season, demand. Table game statistics to find when is the best time to sell.
-
Store honey when prices are high. If market prices are low, it is training to wait for an increase before selling.
-
Develop processing chains. The use of honey in productive chains considerably enhances its value. The prices are comparably lower on raw materials than on a finished product as an example e.g. cereals.
If you want to establish a successful farming business, be sure to consider this activity. It doesn’t require much time or resources but provides a stable income and improves the yield of key crops. With bees, you can earn money from honey sales and create more complex, high-value products. Try setting up an apiary on your farm and see how profitable and engaging it can be!
