According to a Ukrainian Air Force news statement on Thursday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be redeploying a decommissioned Cold War-era S-125 surface-to-air missile system. The Soviet-designed S-125 missile system is participating in tactical drills in the Kharkiv area, close to the Russian border, according to a news statement issued on August 6. In 2013, the Ukrainian Air Force withdrew its S-125 medium-altitude surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems.
