For a very short period of time, this mod allows you to test drive a car for free. This is helpful if you want to determine a vehicle's weight or size before buying it (for instance, to see whether it would fit your tools).
For cars under $100,000, the test drive is automatically free and lasts for two minutes in real time. An insurance cost equal to 0.3% of the car's value will be assessed by the dealer if the vehicle is worth more than $100,000. Test drives are only available for drivable automobiles.
A file called "testDriveSettings.xml" is created in the modSettings directory by this mod, and it may be used to configure:
– duration: the test drive's actual duration in minutes (default=2)
"insurance"Threshold: the insurance pricing threshold (by default, $100,000).
"insurance"Ratio: the percentage of the vehicle's total cost that goes toward insurance, if necessary (default=0.003)
If false, all cars may be test driven (default=true); otherwise, onlyDrivables
NOTE: Other modifications that utilize the “MENU_EXTRA_2” key on the store screen (by default, the ‘C’ key) will not work with this mod.
