We are all eagerly awaiting the release of Farming Simulator 25. It promises to bring many interesting and unique innovations, as well as improvements to existing mechanics, features, and content. One of the highlights is the addition of new crops. Today, we want to talk about one of them – rice.

Yes, in Farming Simulator 25, you will be able to grow rice! Since the game is more focused on Central Asian culture, the addition of this crop makes perfect sense.

Let’s take a detailed look at this upcoming crop, which will debut in the latest release of our favorite farming simulator.

Where can you grow rice in FS25?

Rice is a plant that requires a lot of moisture to grow. Therefore, you can't just plant it on a regular field. The process of planting rice in Farming Simulator 25 will take place on specially prepared, water-flooded plots. You will need to prepare these plots yourself by shallowly digging up the soil and flooding it with water. Only on such fields can you plant rice.

It’s also important to note that you'll need specialized equipment, and the planting process for this crop is quite complex. We’ll go into more detail about that below.

Growing seedlings in greenhouses and planting in the fields

In addition to needing specially prepared fields, you can’t simply plant rice seeds. No! Before that, you need to grow the rice to the seedling stage. Seedlings will be grown in greenhouses, and once they’re ready, you can transport them to the flooded field and begin planting the rice.

As you can see, growing rice in the game won't be easy. But all this effort will be handsomely rewarded – rice will be worth more than the average crop. Furthermore, it can be used in production chains to create various food products and more. As a result, your income will significantly increase.

Equipment needed for rice planting

It’s important to mention that you can’t use a regular tractor with a seeder for planting rice. This is a more complex process that requires a specialized rice planter, such as the ISEKI PRJ8D. This small agricultural machine will easily handle such tasks and help you plant rice seedlings on the flooded fields.

So far, this is the only known machine for planting rice. Perhaps soon the developers will reveal more machines that will be available in the game. In any case, they will surely appear as mods.

Equipment for harvesting rice fields

Rice crops take a long time to grow, but their yield and sale price are quite high. Therefore, growing rice is highly profitable and very engaging. Once the rice is ready, it’s time to harvest it. But what equipment should you use for this? Let's explore this in the next section of our article.

To harvest rice, you’ll need specialized harvesters. One of these is the Iseki HJ6130.



This harvesting machine is specifically designed for harvesting rice. It’s not very large and can’t harvest large amounts at once, but that’s not necessary, as rice grows densely and the planting areas are usually quite small.

Of course, this is not the only piece of equipment of its kind that will be featured in FS25. Moreover, skilled modders will likely create their own modifications of rice harvesters.

Rice prices – purchasing seedlings, selling price
