Spinach in Farming Simulator 25 has one thing that other crops don't. It is possible to grow multiple crops of spinach in succession!

But growing it also requires close attention to detail, from field preparation through harvesting and disposal. In this guide, we’ll provide you with the steps to grow spinach from start to finish so you can get the hang of it quickly.

Field Preparation

If you want a successful spinach harvest, proper land preparation is key. If you don’t have a plot already, you’ll have to buy a suitable field on the in-game map. Choose the plot, click on it, and make your purchase.

Next, prepare the soil. If the field shows up red on the map, it needs plowing. Use a plow, subsoiler or similar implement. If plowing isn’t necessary, simple cultivation will do, breaking up the soil and getting it ready for planting.

The first important step is determining the need for liming and stone removal. If the field is in need of lime, apply an appropriate amount with a spreader. Rollers and special tools for removing stones from fields are suitable for removing stones (they can be found in the corresponding section of the agricultural store in the game).

 

Note that the liming and stone systems can be turned off in the game settings to make things easier to handle.

Planting Spinach

Planting (once, the field is ready) You will require a seeder and spinach seeds. Choose some appropriate stuff from the shop. It saves you time, if you have models that allow you to seed directly or fertilize simultaneously.

Load the seeder with spinach seeds, pick spinach as the crop, unfold and lower the equipment and the planting starts. It is also important that the seeder is correctly calibrated and the calibration process monitored to ensure that it is accurate.

Following planting, the field needs tending. That involves fertilization, weed control and monitoring the condition of the field, to name a few.

If you want the best yield, then fertilize the field two times, once after planting, and again before harvesting. If you use fertilizers, make sure to choose the right kind for your soil and spread them evenly.

Harvesting

Spinach is ready for harvest once it reaches maturity.

 

You’ll need a specialized harvester designed exclusively for this crop. Harvesting this crop requires a specialized OXBO MKB-4TR harvester designed exclusively for spinach. This harvester can hold up to 35,000 liters of spinach, making it ideal for large-scale operations.

Start by unfolding and activating the harvester. You can harvest manually or with the help of an AI assistant. When the harvester is full, use a trailer to transport the spinach to the market or production buildings. Note that spinach does not spoil in a trailer or harvester, but it cannot be stored on the ground or in silos.

Using and Selling the Harvest

After harvesting, you have two main options: sell the spinach or use it in production chains. Selling is done through the farmer’s market, canning factories, or other outlets. To find the best price, open the in-game menu and check current spinach prices.

If you decide to process the crop, some production buildings accept spinach as raw material. This can increase your profits, especially if you plan to sell the processed products.

Unique Features of Growing Spinach

Spinach can be grown and harvested twice in a season, which sets it apart from other crops. After the first harvest, the plant continues to grow. So if you sow spinach in your field, you get a double benefit! The following year, however, the field will need to be prepared again.

• For efficiency, use seeders with direct seeding functionality or models that apply fertilizer simultaneously.

• Fertilize twice for optimal results: during the growth phase and before harvesting.

• Spinach can only be stored in trailers or harvesters; it cannot be placed in silos or on the ground.

• Spinach can be sold at the market or processed in production chains (e.g., at canning factories). Prices can be checked in the game menu.

If you’re playing with seasonal growth enabled, note that spinach can only be planted during certain times of the year but can be harvested throughout the season. To simplify the process, you can disable seasonal growth in the game settings.
