By default, the game stores high-resolution textures in a maximum of 4GB of graphics card memory. For instance, a building's textures may be removed from memory as soon as you turn away from it in order to load new textures.
Turning back toward the structure might cause it to momentarily "flicker." The game may "flicker" for a moment if you return to the building since only the low-resolution textures are seen before reloading the high-resolution textures into memory.
This patch raises the texture memory limit from the 4GB that is utilized by default by 100% to 8GB.
Therefore, you should only use this mod if you have at least 12GB of RAM on your graphics card. VRAM, or the graphics card's memory rather than the PC's, is crucial.
